Why HackerBoxes?

From the very heart of the modern maker movement, HackerBoxes entertain, enlighten, educate, and empower.

Whether you're a new student or a seasoned expert, there is always more to discover in the exciting world of electronics and computers.  We all love learning about new technology, but keeping up with every development online can be very time consuming.  Worse still, gathering everything together to do some hands-on exploring can be even more daunting.  This is where HackerBoxes come in.  Each month, we curate a few sweet little nuggets of cyberspace, make them tangible, and set them right into your hands to play with.

HackerBoxes remove barriers such as finding good projects, printing circuit boards, fabricating mechanical elements, gathering components together, and finding the right code to download.  HackerBoxes bring the knowledge by pulling it all together and putting projects into greater context.  HackerBoxes close the real world experience loop on the great stuff we all see and do online.  And let’s be honest, who doesn’t want a new box of cool toys every month?

What's inside the box?

We’re so glad you asked.  While the particular contents of each monthly HackerBox is a surprise, each box generally includes a primary project or gizmo, parts or modules, tools or supplies, and promotional items or swag.  Some projects are entirely new with custom PCB layouts and component kits.  Some projects are based on, or improvements of, existing open designs.  Some projects may involve working with a commercial product.  Each HackerBox is curated to provide value and the exciting surprise of discovery upon arrival.  Take a look at some of the prior boxes.
